With 2.10 finalized and humming along on thousands of systems, it's time to start deciding what to do for the next release. With the current trend of double digit release numbers, maybe we should name it 11 instead of 2.11? If you have an opinion feel free to express it but for now let's discuss more interesting topics, like what should be in it!! Some of us developers got on a phone conference last week to start this dialog. We've got some ideas which I'll express next but as always we want to hear from you!
The current release, FreePBX 2.10 has been pretty much final for quite a while now though we have been reluctant to officially bless it as such because we wanted to be very conservative on the new release given the GUI changes and some of the other big changes that have gone into it. With about 6000 beta and release candidates systems that have tried it out and many of those active and in production, we decided that it's probably ok to bless it as final!
Things have been pretty busy over the last week or two if you have been watching all the tickets being closed, moved around, checkins, etc. We've been busy going over all the tickets filed under 2.10, making sure to review and/or address any outstanding issues that may have been missed, dealing with a minor security issue that surfaced briefly last week but was quickly closed, and so on. Here are a few details as to where things stand based on all this activity!
We hope everyone out there had a great Holiday Season and Happy New Year! In addition to enjoying "the season" ourselves we've been quite busy so we're back to give you a quick update on all the threads of activities that have been keeping us going! Those include 2.10 Release Candidate coming up, new site and repository servers and the fast approaching Open Telephony Training Class.

As you may recall, we've been having server problems for some time on our 5 year old hardware and have been undergoing the first phase of our modernization process! Time for another update...
With the holidays fast approaching we're firing on all pistons trying to move everything forward, keep the site healthy and prepare for those of you who will be joining us in Naples, FL for the next Open Telephony Training.! Progress is solid on the new repository site and website that we discussed in the last blog. and version 2.10 is close to entering release candidate state.
