Hi, I want to get an e-mail elert whenever calls come in on a particular ring group, how do i do such custom scripting with freepbx, what is the best way to approach this ?

You did not tell us a thing about your system, however we assume it is Linux based.
You can write the script in whatever language you are comfortable with (PHP, BASH script, PERL etc) and call it from the dial plan.
You can familiarize yourself with dial plan coding with this free book (you can also buy a print version and help support the authors).
