distro install not working

I am having trouble getting past step 4 of the installation procedures.

I get to the screen that says "Looking for IP config for eth0" but the install will not advance any further when I select the defaults as per instructions ?

I finally have it installing now.

It was a bad ethernet cable (that I made up myself) !

I will likely need lots of help down the road with this though...
