Installing to an existing Asterisk system

fyremoon's picture

Hello,

I have a customer that I'm rebuilding their network servers for them. They have an existing asterisk server that provides their current phone system.

What I'd like to know is that if I install FreePBX on their server, would it:

a) overwrite their config files (sip.conf, extensions.conf, etc)
b) be able to read the existing config files

Thanks,

John

If the current Asterisk system has something custom you want to keep you can integrate that code via extensions_custom.conf

As for standard PBX features and extensions I would just reload them.

How many phones and what type?
