I hope everyone in the United States had a happy Labor Day weekend and for those of you outside the US I hope you had a happy Monday (or Tuesday for those of you living a day ahead of us) just the same. In case you haven't been keeping an eye on FreePBX's Module Admin we have made public the "FreePBX Upgrader" for all 2.11 systems that are not a FreePBX Distro based system. This give you the ability to be able to upgrade to FreePBX 12. But before you do that I advise you read the rest of this post (and make a backup... You did make a backup right?).
June 16, 2014 FreePBX has released updates that fix several vulnerabilities in Asterisk®. Users of the FreePBX Distro can use the provided update scripts or SysAdmin Pro module to update their existing systems.
We have added some new features to XactDialer and before we push them into the stable version, we want to get as many people testing them as possible. So we have created a BETA trial license that we have opened up so anyone can add XactDialer to a supported installation of FreePBX to test and give feedback on these new features.
Back six months ago Google announced they would discontinue the mechanism that allowed 3rd party applications to access the Google voice services. This day is rapidly approaching and as it does the services that acted as as a gateway are also winding down. The big day is May 15th, 2014 and anyone who missed the memo will be left in the cold. I would like to encourage any users who are currently utilizing these back doors and gateways to move on sooner than later.
