System Recordings
System Recordings are used in Ring Groups and Conferences for various announcements.
Uploading a file
If you're uploading a .wav file directly, it needs to be saved as a 'PCM Uncompressed' 8000hz 16bit mono file.

Remote System Recordings
Has anyone tried creating a way for a remote user (say a PBX administrator, such as myself!) to make a System Recording without being onsite with the system? In case its not obvious, I am trying to bypass making a .wav file recording, and would rather be able to make the recording from a phone.

sugarhi: yes. as of 2.5 you can set up a feature code to re-record a voice prompt. Your offside admin can then access the system via disa or an ivr.

QuickTime plugin requested
when I try to listen a system recording from web interface clicking on the blue speaker icon, I am asked to installa QuickTime plugin to my Firefox 5. Why can't I simply choose how to open file (e.g. with VLC or Audacity or whatever else)?
What happen if I were on a Linux box rather than on Windows?
Thanks

Use of multiple files?
What is the use of having multiple files for a system recording?
Do you need to add all of the files in different formats which are the same recording?
I already have all the files converted and where they are meant to be but want to make sure Asterisk will be able to see them and use them so no in-call transcoding takes place.
