module admin -> online updates -> not installed but locally available should not be red

Description

When I go into tools->module admin -> online updates modules which are not installed, but are locally available are displayed in red. Online modules which are not installed are simply in black. I believe the local but not installed modules should not be hilited in red, but stay black as they do not represent an error in the least. save the red for modules which are installed and for which there is an update available.

  • owner changed from RobThomas to gregmac.
  • priority changed from minor to trivial.
  • component changed from - choose - to Core - Module Admin.
  • type changed from Bugs to Feature Requests.

So this a bug because you think the colours should be different? Moving to requests.

I didn't mean to imply that it's that big a deal, but features which aren't installed and are available are displayed differently depending on whether it's a local module or an online one. I'm simply saying that all uninstalled features should be indicated the same - that way you can check for updates quickly and only the features which are actually installed and for which there is an update available would jump out in a different color.

It may sound trivial, but it'd be nice to be able to check for updates quickly without having to visually filter out modules which are not installed.

It does make sense. Maybe add the list of modules with updates to the top of the list and in a different colour so you don't have to go through the whole list.

  • status changed from new to closed.
  • confirmation set to Confirmed.
  • engine_version changed.
  • svn_rev changed.
  • version changed from 2.2rc1 to 2.5-branch.
  • milestone set to 2.5.
  • resolution set to fixed.

for consistency I agree and I think it is good that upgrades are red, if we want to considered not installed to be another color then a feature request should be put in. But for now, fixed making it not red as upgrades are what should really be highlighted.

r6167 this is better, and if you don't ever want to see them, you can use the new config file to hide stuff form module_admin
