Description

Many times I want to send a caller directly to a voicemail box, but I dont want the caller to hear the greeting that is recorded there - whether default nor custom - I just want them to go directly to record message, maybe playing a beep, but nothing else.

Typically this will be from an IVR or queue/ring group, or maybe an announcement.

A scenario might be when a receptionist has her own mailbox, with her own personal greeting, but maybe the IVR sends callers to a general mailbox after hours which is actually the receptionists mailbox.

There are a few other situations in which this would be handy, above is just one instance.

I suppose this could be done with a misc dest, but not quite sure of the code, a drop down in the gui would be nice, or maybe a check box to not play greeting when transfering to vmail.

Not sure if this would fit into a 2.2 or 2.3 release.

jahyde - 2.3 most likely. I do something similar in the VmX locator that is already in 2.3 but it could be extended quite a bit. It would be fairly easy to do through a very small custom context today - you just need to get the VM options right so the normal message does not play - again, I already do that in the VmX setup.
