Description

SNMP Access would be incredibly helpful. Can this be added to the next release?

I am also open for other alternatives that will not be affected by future distro updates.

I agree it would be nice to have this enabled as a default but for security reasons it is better to install only if needed and configure. Here is a good guide on how to set it up https://abechik.wordpress.com/2011/04/19/install-and-configure-snmp-on-rhel-or-centos/

Actually, after testing with his snmpd.conf it was not working. If you do yum install snmpd and leave the default snmpd.conf it works. You can update the system contact and location though.

  • status changed from new to closed.
  • resolution set to invalid.

Adding this be default is not a good idea but if users want it they can yum install it.
