Autodetect ZAP channels with some utility like 
genzaptelconf and add automatically extensions and 
trunks.

It would be nicer to take this a step further and make it so the zap channels can just be defined within fpbx, with no need to manually edit zapata.conf or zaptel.conf.

Xorcom (http://www.xorcom.com), as a freepbx module which does this. Look up in the trixbox forums, in which I posted about it.

I cannot incorporate this into freepbx, because we (ab)use SUDO. I will see how can I abstract this, and probably add this into freePBX.

Setting the milestone to 2.3. I cannot make it in time for 2.2.

using the new sangome-setup script, this may be a lot closer to reality.

I think we can close this now based on:

  • Zaptel is deprecated
  • DAHD-module is in 2.9
