Description

Make the default behavior to assign an extension to ALL available line appearances. If not the default, at least an option to do so.

As it stands now, you're got to modify the template by hand in order to assign an extension to all line appearances on a phone.

  • priority changed from regression to trivial.
  • confirmation changed from Unreviewed to Need Feedback.

You don't have to modify the templates by hand.

Go to advanced settings (in endpoint manager) and turn on "allow duplicate extensions" then add the same extension to your phone as much as you want.

Thanks for your help. Checking "allow duplicate extensions" worked. I suggest adding a tool-tip to explain what "Allow Duplicate Extensions" does.

I think the process could be streamlined by adding a check-box on the extensions page to assign the extension to all line appearances. Assigning different extensions for each line appearance is the exception is most cases.

Thank you!

Assigning an extension to all lines isn't the proper way of doing this as asterisk only accepts ONE extension registration! I think most phone models I've added in the support of doing this 'virtually' meaning the phone fakes it for you and only does one registration
