New Site Day 1 and Trac Update

Another quick update after the first day of operations..

As Tony pointed out (his blog repeated below) a lot of us worked over the weekend and in some cases all night to get the new site migrated! Kudos to them and the several contributors who have been spending countless hours over the last several weeks updating contents and getting some great documentation into the wiki! Go have a look…

When we came up this morning the ‘trac’ site was in a somewhat ugly ‘maintenance’ mode. We’ve now got it ‘limping along’ such that you should get logged into trac when you login to the site and logged back out again. Full functionality is not restored there and we could use some help if there is someone out there who has some experience with simple Drupal modules.

The module provides two main functions. It logs you into trac when you login to Drupal, and it provides the formatting in the forums so that if you use notation like #4312 it will be converted to a link to ticket 4312 in trace, as well as similar for SVN changesets. It also provides some user settings so you can indicate if you want trac to send you updates and where. Aside from the login/logoff functionality we have not gotten the rest working yet given the changes in the Drupal APIs.

IF YOU HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE WITH DRUPAL MODULES, PLEASE GET IN CONTACT WITH US WE WOULD LOVE YOUR HELP GETTING THESE BACK WORKING!

For now, keep at the site, let us know what you think and we’ll be chugging along with lots of tweaks and smoothing out the rough edges.

HERE IS TONY’s Blog Repeated:

After 24 hours of non stop work by us we are going live with the new web site. This new website has been months of work and we hope the users enjoy it.

As we all know their will be a few days of getting use to things and us tweaking items that are still not 100% done.

One of the new features we are working daily on is an updated and easy to use wiki/documentation site. We encourage users to start using the new wiki and keep a watch on things as we keep adding new content over the next month. And if you would like to help get involved in writing documentation please contact myself through Private Message.

The one thing that is still not working is the trac site. We currently use trac for feature and bug tickets. We hope to have this back up and working in the next 24 hours.

Feel free to comment in the new Forum Section called Website and create forum post on any issues or suggestions in regards to the new website.
