FreePBX® to support Asterisk 1.4

So what’s going on with Asterisk 1.4 and the plans to “End of Life” version 1.2? If you have not already heard, it was decided at the recent Asterisk Developers Conference: “One decision that we took was to stop maintaining 1.2 as a current release from August 1st 2007. At that date, we will move 1.2 of Asterisk, Asterisk-addons, libpri and zaptel to security maintenance status. 1.4 will at that point be the recommended release.”

What does this mean for FreePBX® since it only supports Asterisk 1.2 today?

IVRs – Standard Abilities, Tips and Tricks

I didn’t get a lot of feedback from last week’s article on what you wanted to hear so I scanned the forums a bit and decided the IVR generated enough questions that I would put together an article going into a bit of depth on this.
